Bond is back. Finally.
After a long wait and a few ups and downs along the way, Daniel Craig is once again suiting up as Ian Fleming’s James Bond aka 007. The as-yet-untitled movie will be Craig’s fifth and final outing as the character, who he first appeared as in 2006’s much-loved Casino Royale. The other entries have been a bit come and go, with Skyfall being a highlight, but Spectre being viewed as a weak follow up. Production so far does seem to have been hit with some problems – Danny Boyle was due to direct but left, Craig injured an ankle during filming, a controlled explosion at Pinewood went wrong, oh and someone was arrested for hiding a camera in the ladies toilet (wtf?!).
But…. now it seems things are underway!! Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Beasts Of No Nation, Maniac) is in the director’s seat, and after a four year break 007 is back:
OOOOF.
Yes indeed, Daniel Craig is strutting around London as we speak in full 007 mode.
There’s no denying that although his first outing Casino Royale saw Bond in a Jason Bourne-esque casual wardrobe, Bond really is at his best in his full suit and tie. It’s also interesting to note the Astin Martin V8, one of Bond’s old vehicles that has not been seen for some time. It may not be his most famous set of wheels, but following the DB5’s destruction at the hands of Silva in Skyfall (spoiler!), perhaps Bond has had to search his archives for another motor of choice…
